Escalators
Escalators are a common form of vertical transportation in public spaces and
commercial buildings. These continuously moving staircases make it easier to
move between different levels of a building. Escalators are designed to
transport people quickly and efficiently between different floors or levels
of a building, such as shopping malls, airports, train stations, and office
complexes. They are particularly useful in high-traffic areas. An escalator
consists of a set of moving steps or treads that circulate on a continuous
loop. Passengers can step onto the moving steps at the bottom and be
transported to the top, or vice versa. Handrails are provided for passenger
safety and stability.
